Being an Editor-in-chief

Being apart of the Blueprint has had it's struggles whether it be staying up late to right a quick news coverage story or having all your work wiped because you forgot to save your layout, it can also be a fun experience. Here are some things that myself and the other editors-in-chiefs have done to make sure we keep the team on task while enjoying the company of each other.

Blueprint Website

SNO Badges are a big thing for our team, one of the badges we needed to get was changing our homepage. I decided to take charge of the design here are photos of before and after.

Layout Week

For our cycles we make sure that we have a whole week before the pages need to be sent out to the printers to do layout. Typically we have one person working on one page, however, features has both editors working collectively.

Editing

When editing an article we created a system where writer and copy editor and section editor come together and read the article together. The process has made it easier to make sure we catch small mistakes.

Distribution Day

During distribution day the staff splits up into three sections to cover the whole school. We hand them out to every class and students and staff in the common areas.
